Olio outside of Lucca

We toured the last traditional olive oil press this afternoon. Most now are centrifuge presses, bit this small community still uses the stone grinding  wheels. We were treated to a wonderful luncb of very local imgredients. At home we're into locally grown...once again the Italians are ahead of us....their version is '0 kilometer' food. So, it's mostly out if their back yard or up the street!

After all I've learned lately about olive oil, it's nice to take home some from trees I've seen!
On the way to and from this small mill, there was a construction spot where our bus just barely got around!

We're IN the trees along the side here, probably scratching the side significantly!

Here's an old Roman aqueduct, just hanging around the countryside! Sorry for the window reflection, remember this is all simply with my old Iphone 5. Same for spelling...

Now we're back at our hotel overlooking the cafe, with the rest of the day free. What to do? What else...grab a quick macciatto and take a side trip with one of our group members to Pisa!!
